Sailor Oyster Bar Opens in Annapolis

Annapolis is quickly becoming a town known for its restaurants as well as the chefs behind the tasty dishes being served. Its latest addition, Sailor Oyster Bay (196 West Street), is no exception. Sticking to the basics, Scott Herbst (also General Manager at Tsunami in Annapolis) hatched a plan to open a different, more tradition take on a restaurant. The Capital Gazette recently sat down with Herbst, discussing how Sailor Oyster Bar’s approach will trade microwaves for blowtorches

No microwaves. No ovens. No stoves. Just a blowtorch and a toaster. Owner Scott Herbst said the idea behind the Sailor Oyster Bar stemmed from a simple question: What would you eat if you were stuck on a deserted island?
